Lucienne operates like a winery/cellar—carefully tasting, packaging, cataloguing, and preserving each [coffee] on your behalf right here in Colorado. This is a major understatement and honestly sounds much easier than it actually is.
Partner coffees are rested for 7-14 days, individually vacuum packed in 100g increments, catalogued, then placed in a deep freeze (-18°F) until ordered by you.
All coffees are delivered in freezer-safe, flat vacuum bags with integrated, resealable zippers.
We taste every single bag of coffee we purchase blind before listing them for sale to ensure quality remains high. We do not discount or sell rejected coffees. (Sorry. These end up being my husband and I’s morning cups.)
We specialize in forgiving, un-finicky, stunning coffees meant for special occasions, coffee nerds, or just treating yourself.
Over time, we hope to build quite the catalogue of both new and legacy offerings no longer available anywhere else.

We restock and release new coffees every month on the 15th @ 12PM Mountain Time! (That’s 2pm Eastern, and 11am Pacific)

Before you read on, we do offer espresso-specific roasts, if that is what you’re looking for!
Most Lucienne offerings are roasted with filter preparation in mind, unless noted otherwise. This is the easiest, most forgiving, most reliable method to taste these coffees with minimal fuss and waste on your end.A skilled barista can certainly dial these in for espresso with amazing results as well. We see it all the time.
However, for most customers, we generally don’t recommend this due to the size of our bags at 100g each. We believe most baristas need at a minimum 3-4 pulls to approach a decent shot, and by then you may or may not have enough for a 5th. Because the quantity is low and the price is high, it just doesn’t make economic sense, and we’d hate for you to end up wasting so much coffee.
Of course, this is the case with any coffee, and can easily be solved by purchasing more than one bag... In other words, like most things, this problem can be solved with money. But this economy is tough.
ALL THAT BEING SAID, I know there are a bunch of you espresso maniacs out there who will do it anyway. I won’t stop you from your fun. :)

Josh’s Notes:
Wowee, talk about pushing the flavor envelope! This coffee from the always gorgeous Finca Milan / Julio Cesar Madrid is so sweet and candy-like. On bag open, a rush of aromas hit your nose. Specifically you get a MASSIVE note of cotton candy with this one, backed up with an artificial (in a good way) blueberry flavor reminiscent of Cap’n Crunch Berries in the nose. Grape bubble gum (like Hubba Bubba Bubbletape) competes for your attention too. In the cup, you get complex melon and tropical flavor notes along with a nice hibiscus tannin to keep a nice edge. They all come together in a super fun cup of coffee. Highly recommended if you like sweet, candy-like cups.
Sure to impress non-coffee drinkers in your house.
This is an interesting coffee to compare to the venerable Risaralda Milan Agi Culturing from the same producer and roaster. Same processing, but different inputs.
Glitch’s Notes:
A uniquely flavorful coffee has arrived from Finca Milan, a farm that has garnered global attention in recent competitions.
Milan’s signature lies in its innovative fermentation method known as "Culturing." This pioneering process goes beyond conventional varietal boundaries, unlocking new dimensions of flavor and redefining the possibilities of coffee through the dedication and creativity of its producers.
This lot is also crafted using the Culturing method—a fermentation process that utilizes an environment rich in specific bacteria called a starter culture. Typically derived from fermented fruits, especially pineapple, these yeasts are carefully selected and adjusted in type, quantity, and fermentation time to shape the intended flavor profile of the coffee.
The result is striking notes of Grape and Cotton Candy—a true reflection of the producer's commitment and innovation, expressed in every sip.
We’re proud to bring you this boundary-pushing coffee from the ever-evolving Finca Milan.
Roasted light and spectacularly by our friends at Glitch Coffee and Roasters in Tokyo, Japan, rested for 7 days, then vacuum packed and frozen. I recommend enjoying this coffee right away.
Josh’s notes:
“Holy fuck” is the first note in my notebook for this one. On bag open, this smells like a fresh, homemade ice cold ginger ale. Extra kick in the nose with the addition of the smell of lemon myrtle trees. It’s extremely strong and extremely amazing! The scent of a high end vanilla bean or sticky, melty vanilla paste rounds out the aroma too, along with a heavy hand of jasmine flower. It’s mind boggling this smell. Needs to be smelt to be believed. On grind it smells so good, like fresh baked lemon madeleines, or squashed Hostess vanilla Zingers from the bodega. On wet, lemon and fresh ginger ale (now a hot ginger ale) fill the air, and only intensify as the brew goes on. I highly recommend leaving a lid on your brewer as this brews so you can trap the aromatics in. In the cup, happy to say it’s more of the same. Beautiful lemon, vanilla cake, and fresh cream, with a ginger kick. No funk to speak of, just clean, intense flavor.
Goes shockingly well with milk, and milk based drinks if you dare to pull turbo shots with this.
Incredible offering from Hatou.
We also have an equally amazing chiroso with the same processing from the same farm available here: El Encanto Yeasted Thermal Shock x2 Ferment Washed Chiroso
Hatou’s notes:
Check back soon.
Roast:
Roasted light-medium(ish) and spectacularly by our friends at Hatou Coffee and Roasters in Jeju, South Korea, rested for 7 days, then vacuum packed and frozen. I recommend enjoying this coffee right away.
