Josh’s notes:
The smell of pomegranate juice on bag open, which only intensifies on bloom! In the brew, you have a juicy mouthfeel that intensifies as the coffee cools off a bit. There’s a bit of green-ish plum tartness to add some dimension to the cup, and a pleasant woody aftertaste that reminds me of a fancy woodworking store. If you like coffees like Sumatras or other South Pacific origins, this would be a great option with some added fruit.
Thoughtful’s notes:
“Our first coffee from Venezuela. This lot has high acidity that expresses once cooled. The profile of this is very different than its neighboring Colombian coffees.
We purchased this coffee since we don’t come across too many (more like zero) coffees from Venezuela.
Then I dug into why we don’t see a ton of Venezuelan coffee, and I learned that they used to be a top exporter in the 1800s, but due to the discovery of oil and a mix of government/economic issues, coffee exports have since decreased.
Anyway, consider this one if you are looking to try coffee from a new region.”
Roast:
Roasted light and spectacularly by our friends at thoughtfulcoffee in Brooklyn, New York, rested for 7 days, then vacuum packed and frozen. I recommend enjoying this coffee right away.
