Josh’s notes:
Easy to recommend for dark roast fiends/friends. This coffee is also easy to write copy for, which is always a win for me.
A darker impression on bag open. You immediately notice that these are dark roasted beans. They are beautiful to look at. There’ s the smell of dark chocolate covered fruits on grind. Heavy degassing on bloom. Truly, smells like coffee out of a kissaten. A good one. Dark and rich. As the brew goes on, it actually reveals some clear fruitiness of black currant and blackberry. The currant especially has a special place on the flavor profile. I’d call it “bursty”- especially as the brew cools.
I wrote “wow” at least 3 times in my notes on this one. Super dark but manages to remain sweet and fruity. Obviously roasted with care with a certain somebody in mind. A smoker probably. Somebody cool. Are you cool?
Lilo’s notes:
“Spreading black currant, blackberry flavor
Body and sweetness of dark chocolate and cacao
The sweetness of dense molasses continues gradually”
Roast:
Roasted dark and spectacularly by our friends at Lilo Coffee Roasters in Osaka, Japan, rested for 7 days, then vacuum packed and frozen. I recommend enjoying this coffee right away.
