Josh’s notes:
Smells expensive. An expansive green grape note on bag open, and even more on grind. The aroma is really intense. On wet, an amazing white florality springs forth that smells like all sorts of white, buttery flowers like jasmine, gardenia, and plumeria. It really fills the room! The brew is very complex, with bright orange peel/expression notes when hot, transitioning to grapefruit juice as it cools. The cup is incredibly clean; almost spring-water like. Highly recommended, and a good pair to the other Hacienda Copey, #177.
Thoughtful’s notes:
“The coffee was processed through the honey method, and carefully dried on African beds with mucilage on for 10 days.
Hacienda Copey was found in 2011 with the aim of producing high-quality specialty coffee in the Tarrazu district of Costa Rica. They've won the Cup of Excellence twice in the past and consistently aim to produce complex coffees.
This is our second year working with Hacienda Copey.”
Roast:
Roasted light and spectacularly by our friends at thoughtfulcoffee in Brooklyn, New York, rested for 7 days, then vacuum packed and frozen. I recommend enjoying this coffee right away.
