El Placer Red Fruit Co-ferment EA Decaf Caturra

$24.00

Josh’s notes:
FINALLY, a good decaf! This is Lucienne’s first decaf offering. We get asked about this a lot, so finally, here you are!
The bag smells SO good, a lot like red velvet cake and berries. The beans are also gorgeous looking, with a beautiful red hue to them and a slight gloss. On grind, a big milk chocolate note comes forward, perhaps chocolate covered raspberries? Smells delicious on wet, again with the red velvet sensation. In the brew, you get a milk chocolate covered white strawberry almost exactly. Beautiful and bright, you’d never suspect this was a decaf coffee.

Goes great on espresso too!

Obscure’s Notes:
“Sebastián is a master of crafting flavors in coffee, and this one shows exactly that. With a decaf like this, you won’t be missing out on the caffeine kick. This coffee is fermented with wine yeast, dehydrated strawberries and fruit glucose for a berry-forward profile that also features some chocolate notes. Think biting into a cherry cordial. This one may change your mind about decaf coffees!”

Roast:
Roasted medium and spectacularly by our friends at Obscure Coffee Roasters in Brooklyn, New York.
