El Nazareno "One of a Kind" CoE #1 Natural

$48.00

Josh’s Notes:
Something very special here. A Cup of Excellence winner, and it really tastes like one. You get a big bouquet of everything when you open the bag. There’s a complex handful of blackberries at various ripeness levels, and a sweet herbal tea. When ground, this aroma sweetens up even more with that blackberry note coming through. In the brew, you get a warm, slightly sweet green tea. Not the loose leaf variety, more like Arizona. (Is it insulting to compare a coffee like this to a 99 cent can..?) That tea flavor is flanked by further blackberry edge and whiffs of orange peel, and a lingering light honey sweetness. This coffee is superbly balanced. The acidity stays nice and tame, with an exceptionally clean texture; especially for a natural. As it cools, it only beomces more delicious. This is the type of natural to think about a while. So nuanced and complex; a good brain fidget spinner. It is expensive, but I can’t imagine not feeling anything but elated with this coffee at any price point.

Roasted light and spectacularly by our friends at Glitch Coffee and Roasters in Tokyo, Japan, rested for 7 days, then vacuum packed and frozen. I recommend enjoying this coffee right away.
