El Caminito 48h Anaerobic Washed Geisha
Josh’s Notes:
Such a beautiful geisha. Nice orange peel smell on bag open, mixed with a heavy dose of jasmine flowers. Really beautiful aroma. Classic, warm, and inviting. On grind, a nice fresh tropical scent. It’s breezy and pleasant with the smell of tropical fruits in the air. A light milk chocolate smell on wet, but mostly oranges and jasmine still. In the cup, the biggest impression is super clean. The mouth texture is light and tea-like. As the cup cools even slightly, dark brown sugar begins to take over the cup. The brew itself also seems to thicken up a bit into a more syrupy space, and really rewards a slow, savoring slurp just so you can appreciate how graceful it really is. Great balance on this cup. Would make an insane iced coffee.
Glitch’s Notes:
“A refined Geisha lot has arrived from El Caminito, located in Santa Barbara, Honduras.
The producer, Leonela Vanessa Madrid, is a fourth-generation coffee producer. After completing her studies in Agribusiness in 2023, she returned to her hometown and took over El Caminito from her father. She continues to pursue higher quality with the goal of one day being recognized in the Cup of Excellence.
Perfectly ripe cherries are selectively hand-picked and fermented in plastic tanks for 78 hours. After pulping, the parchment coffee with its mucilage is returned to the tanks for an additional 48 hours of fermentation. It is then washed three times and slowly dried on covered African beds for 15–18 days.
This coffee offers elegant notes of Jasmine and Orange, complemented by the gentle sweetness of Brown Sugar. Its balanced structure and delicate Tea-like mouthfeel create a clean and graceful finish.
We hope you enjoy this elegant and expressive Geisha with us.”
Roasted light and spectacularly by our friends at Glitch Coffee and Roasters in Tokyo, Japan, rested for 7 days, then vacuum packed and frozen. I recommend enjoying this coffee right away.
