Aroma Nativo Double Anaerobic Honey Pink Bourbon (2025)
Josh’s Notes:
Yet another year of amazing double fermented honey pink bourbon from Aroma Nativo. I will always make the effort to purchase these ultra bright competition coffees. This batch roasted by Glitch is incredible. Compared to last year, there’s some passion fruit and mandarin orange coming out on top of those classically bright peach and green apple flavors. Superb and easy to brew; I highly recommend trying this if you have no idea what to buy.
Glitch’s Notes:
Located in Pitalito, Huila province, Aroma Nativo is one of the Colombian specialty coffee producers that has attracted attention in recent years.
Aroma Nativo is founded by its founder, Luis Marcelino, in collaboration with local farmers to produce high-quality coffee that combines traditional farming technology with innovative fermentation processes. In the Veci project, which started in 2022, we worked with producers who do not have processing infrastructure to produce coffee using a joint processing facility of Pilotit. We only deal with microlots and nanorots with full traceability.
The lot introduced this time is refined in a process called Honey Double Fermentation.
We carefully select the ripe cherries, ferment them once in an anaerobic environment, and then de-piulp and re-ferment the fermentation process. In the second fermentation, native bacteria and yeast are added to bring out a vivid fruity feeling.
Featuring a mellow fruity and complex flavour, this lot offers a juiciness reminiscent of Mandarin and Passion Fruits, as well as a pleasant aroma like Earl Grey Tea.
Roasted light and spectacularly by our friends at Glitch Coffee and Roasters in Tokyo, Japan, rested for 7 days, then vacuum packed and frozen. I recommend enjoying this coffee right away.
